Just giving a crude test on my new VCU to ensure I didnt get a siezed one...hmm, kinda looks ok to me?

I rushed today, will make up weight/pole this weekend and re-post.
It is a brand new VCU and I just wanted to see if they had fotted a siezed one due to the new whining noise im experiencing from the IRD area now this has been fitted.
Old VCU is on the bench, will test/video that too this weekend hopefully,
Do you know of a better definitive test?
It might not be perfect (or even accurate) but its the best we got at the mo........ unless you know a better test!

yeah - general concensus is its bollix - scaremongering so yu get them to check yo VCU. Tests arent conclusive, but they are good indicators and therefore worth doing regularly.
Basically wot they is saying is "you cant do any tests to see if yo VCU is buggered - come to us to have it checked"

bell engineering text is bollocks you can test viscous isnt siezed by turning rear wheel or tip ex test it is siezed or not ,the torque thats neede to turn it maybe debatable but ive checked new ones with torque wrench and stop watch and they vary, i was told in the 90s when working on borg warners with viscous couplings that as long as they moved they should give differential as unless siezed they would lock the more torque you put through them we asked for specific figures and they said they didnt have any ie siezd or not

Don't need to put it in gear. Just chock one ground wheel to stop it rolling. Hand brake off.
