Yep. As I go along my merry way I hear a soft quack quack quack...and if I speed up I hear quack-quack quack-quack...

Approximately one (or two) quacks, per wheel rev maybe?

Braking and turning do not affect it, so I suspect something in the transmission post gearbox(es).

Its a facelift 1 auto TD4 if that's relevant.

Anybody had this? Should I apply orange sauce?

has somebody done the blanking of the EGR if so they have not blanked the vacuum small pipe of properly where it use to go to the EGR some put a golf tee in the end to blank it

Well yes someone has, but I cant see why that would quack...

I heard mine quack for the first time when I stopped the engine this morning. Never heard it before and didn't tonight when I got home. Some investigation into this and other problems are needed I feel.

I'm very confused. Somehow I've replied to this thread before but I don't remember doing it nor can I see my original post but I must have done it cause Grumpy quoted me. :confused:o_O

If it helps tho my TD4 quacked after I fitted an EGR blank. It was the solenoid for the EGR. Take the vac hose off it, tie it off with a cable tie and your sorted.

It's been quoted from the driveshaft appreciation fred.
Oh! Now I remember.
S'funny that Grumpy quoting my post seems to have added the thread to my watched list.
Unless of course I clicked to watch it earlier.........

You can use +quote to quote from anywhere on the forum in any thread which is incredibly useful almost never :)

Mine was quacking recently anorl. Looked out the window and there was a duck talking to me.

Well you lot are a waste of space aren't you?

Poking fun at a pore ole hippo, that's got some kind of drivetrain issue.

For shame!

Maybe a new description of the fault would help. Most hippos quack, but this is due to the waste gate or egr blank when you turn the engine off.
Or there's a duck stuck to your wheel that you haven't noticed.
