i'm lucky dad still with me but my grancha's miss to bits,jk the wood expert and diy master, t,ern the mechanic's best friend always found an easy way to fix an engine. Even if it was you had to hit a bit of body work out of way with a 2 pound hammer to save an hour to get a part off.

Thanks all, He knew there were some already on the market, but the one my dad has tried was not substantial enough and as you said, this was virtually free
very impressive ,nothing bettter than making your own special tools
The great thing is with that one that you don't have to take the head off. All the shop bought ones I've seen need the head to be off so as to clamp around it.
Is there any likelihood of losing the valve down inside the cylinder if the piston's at the bottom of its travel?

I'd have thought the answer would be yes so need to remember to have the piston at the top of the up stroke

Again thanks all, this was made for removing valves with the head off, because it would be impossible to remove valves without the head off. Unless you take the sump and pistons out which would be a bit ridiculous However with that said, we noticed that the valve caps were starting to fracture, so if it was only them that needed changing this would be ideal without taking the head off
