Didn't realise Plod used 200tdi discos as offacial Vehikkles?? Just that if it int a Plod (or other emergency services)car then those LEDs are illegally fitted. A "Beacon" if it's fitted must rotate at a fixed speed no more than 1 rotation per second. be visible from ALL directions Be orange in colour and may only be fitted and used when travelling at less than 35mph IIRC. and in very specific circumstances. None of which a normal car driver would be able to use to jusitfy the fitting of a beacon. LEDS are a Not classed as beacons.

Hooo.. didnt know that!

Mine has the rotating orange beacons, but thats cause it was fitted when I bought it.
the 90 was off a land rover garage/ recovery place and it was their runabout vehicle..

Well since I've replaced the passenger side doors I've had a few problems. now got a problem with the passenger door, that if I lock it, I can't open it from I side or outside unless I disconnect the lever bit inside and manually trigger it! yet of I don't lock it, it opens fine on the handles? I've also binned the key lock that side as a) never had a key for it. b) handle was broken and only had a spare rear door handle! now I've got to work out the elec mirrors wiring :( got the rear door to work, it was the locking bar kept dropping back into the lock position. sorted now tho

Well I've disconnected the locking motor on the Passenger door so it's now permanently unlocked, however the LR is alarmed, tailgate is working fine now :/ slightly puzzled by that but hey ho!

Oh and I've wired in my light bar! :) 2 work on main beam, middle 2 work on dipped (both sets have override switches) but I'm going to bridge main beam & dipped anyway as when I put in HIDs I want to keep my dipped on when I go to main, so all 4 spots will work then too.

Oh yeah, I've also become addicted to land rovers, since I've insured it and driven it properly, I've become hooked on them!

Decided while it was dry to go and paint my front & rear bumpers, as haven't got round to fitting the winch bumper as its got to be modded from defender Fitment to Disco Fitment. nor have I managed to swap rear bumpers, so thought I'd paint them and all the bumper plastics/grill etc to make it look prettier!

Plan is in the next few days, take it off the road, tidy it up, get everything working, then it's going, as the 300 needs the money spent on it and body wise and interior it's much tidier, just needs welding around all the seatbelt mounts

Worked out my fuel usage too, I'm averaging 40+mpg which is great! When my ex mate used it he was struggling to get 30!

Hopefully I'll get the back bumper changed in the next week, then I have a set of Saharas to go on, 235/70/16s when my mate takes them off his disco.

Thinking about it I'm not sure they are 70s, I think that's what I've got in my head for some reason. Possibly when I googled Sahara and that was one of the sizes, from what he's told me they are 235s on 16x8 mods

Hopefully they are 235/85/16.

Tyre height is very important, honestly don't bother with them if they're 235/70.

Unfortunately they were 235/70/16s but he's sold them to someone else now, and they weren't Saharas either, they were Insa Turbo Dakars

Never mind, I'll save up and buy some nice BFG ATs I think, well when I get rid of this one and put the gold one on the road

Well sold my 300 disco to my mate who breaks them as its rotten as hell. Shame, body work looked mint :(

Now decided to sell my winch bumper, as I've a new toy that requires lots of £££s spending on it, so the 200 will just get used and abused until either, the body rusts off or the mechanical side gives up..... I think it will rust apart first  chassis is in fair condition though!
