When ever I try to find diff/driveshaft parts they seem to cut off at 2007/2009, then go 2010-2013, which tells me there is a high/med risk that they are not just a straight swap, Or other parts would be needed.

The best I can offer is you ask the guys selling if they could get you some good side by side pics of each year. But even then there is no garuantee they are the same internal fixings.

I was tring to learn a bit myself and maybe help you/somebody else in the future.

I am also now going to have to get My 2011 TDV8 8speed over my pit sometime and check this ratio thing first hand.
I will be checking front and back, but I cannot believe anybody is stupid enough to put a different ratio in only the rear.

So as many posters of threads on here maybe you didnt give the right info in your responces to the initial questions.
There will always be help from many members with experience here even if they dont know they will try to help work it out. Most accept that everyday can be a school day.

See the thing is we are now 2 days in and I dont see anything you have done to help yourself (on both threads you have running).

So if you want to continue just watching then thats up to you. If you want to fight everybody cos they didnt read your first post correctly then why put info in that is not relevant?

If you think me asking questions and asking for details, That you say you know but I didnt. Then me asking a few more and sharing the evidence I have, Patronizing and insulting then I guess you are not a very sociable, willing to share, only want, type of guy.

Genuinely people would be interested to see the outcome, as yes, you never really know until you try. But there is a clear reason Land Rover opted for the gearing they did. And I don't think any engine in the history of the automobile has had to worry about excessive wear under normal expected use. And your misguided want to reduce revs by 400rpm (which isn't even accurate if you'd bothered to look at the"facts" I posted earlier). Will make next to no odds, not even if you had 2 million miles on the tacho.

Excellent, thank you. I came here to ask a simple question and not to justify the validity of that question, repeatedly, while not even being listened to when I did that. And not to then be insulted when my answers did not satisfy the people asking for the validation.

That is only your opinion as there is nothing that you have said in your conclusions that is factual, based on your data.

On your reasoning I could drive around in second gear for a month and it wouldn't make any difference to the engine.

I don't know anyone who thinks that a car driving at a higher RPM than necessary is a good thing but more power to you.

RRPhil indicated that my current second gear would be close to my proposed first gear with the changes and that means I can use second gear to launch and see how that feels.

That is using data to then look at the real world, not to form a biased opinion.

Maybe you want to develop that skill.

I read plenty but you write more, seems like you're here for the argument and you've got what you came for.

You've repeatedly mentioned that you want to reduce your perceived stress on the engine. An engine which is plenty powerful enough with the gearing it left the factory with to power drive the car at a pretty much stress free 60mph. You and you alone it seems have decided that a 200RPM reduction in engine speed will reduce your perceived stress. Some have tried to explain to you (I think, without trawling back through all this dross again) that lower engine speeds do not necessarily equal less stress and higher RPM with lower torque is actually better for an engine in some circumstances.

You've been rude towards people that I have always found to be extremely helpful here and have continued to try and assist (by asking valid questions) even in light of this.

I'm sorry that you've had such a terrible experience here over the last couple of days and I'm also sorry that your question hasn't been answered to your satisfaction.

I'll try once more though, the question you are asking is: Can you fit the 4.4TDV8 Diffs from a 2011 car to a 2002 4.4 petrol to achieve a 2.76:1 ratio.

I was literally insulted with the very first sentence that the very first person said.

The second comment was a massively patronizing insulting comment.

Go back and look for yourself.

I have not had a terrible experience, I have said many times that it has been hilarious and that has been the only reason that I have continued posting.

How else would I have got such a wonderful ridiculous incorrect answer to my question as "nobody modifies cars anymore".

Or "spend thousands on an LPG system" which would not affect the RPM anyway.

For those thousands I could just get my engine rebuilt.

Or my favorite answer "buy a different car" after I said in my comment to not tell me to buy a different car.

Come on how funny is that?

Obviously none of you know the answer to my question but the desperate efforts that you have all gone through to insult me for not respecting your idiotic answers has been hilarious and worth my time.

Yes it has because everyone here has continued to repeat the same incorrect information over and over again and throw out more and more insults and never stop.

I spent almost a year reading this forum and this is standard behavior for most of you.

That is the reason why I said in my opening question to not tell me to buy a different car, as I had seen that useless answer used many times on other people.

My observation is that the people that know the least make the most comments and throw out the most insults.

For example only one person commented that the speedometer runs off the ABS and not the drive train, which was great information.

That person also had some other good suggestions that did not apply to my specific situation but at least they made an effort.

The rest of you were condescending from the very start and did not listen to what I was specifically asking for.

My goal is to reduce the RPMs, not specifically the "stress on the engine" which is a nebulous concept.

I made that clear in my opening question.

Anyway this comedy show has gone on long enough, as the jokes are repeating.

But if someone offers me some really dumb suggestions or makes some really incorrect statements I might find the time to respond.
