Hi folks

After a break from green oval motoring, I decided it was about time I owned the one I've always wanted most - a pre-facelift Disco 1.

Found this one lurking in the parts section of Ebay with a £500 asking price. Agreed on £450, used public transport to get from home in Wales to Kettering, Northants, then hoped it'd get me home. Thankfully it did!

Rough, but not that rotten happily. Interior cleaned up a treat.

I'd decided a 3-door Tdi was what I wanted, preferably on Disco steelies, so it was spot on. I love the graphics.

Worst thing is some accident damage to the rear quarter. I'll just live with it as there's no point trying to fix it. Here it is laning this afternoon.

A coat of paint has smartened the front bumper up a treat.

It's just had the cambelt replaced, along with 'stat, water pump and radiator. 2nd gear synchromesh is buggered, but I'm double-declutching around that at the moment. Next step is a full service, then more laning. I'm not one for modifying, so it'll be staying entirely stock. I may fit a snorkel, but I may not.

Welcome, but you should have introduced yourself first so expect some abuse for a while lol, disco looks good by the way

Hmm - that's odd. Thought I'd introduced myself back in Jan 2012 when I first signed up (had a delicous RRC with VM power at the time). As the above is my first post, it seems not! I'd better get cracking before the tar and feathers are prepared...

Lol looks spot on to me. I love the old 200 got one myself. The only electronics is the clock (oh and immobiliser if fitted) . keep it nice and simple fine by me.

It's quite posh. Electric windows, electric mirrors that almost work and an alarm. No sunroofs though, which means that only the Alpine lights leak...
