hi , i was just wondering if anyone could help . the water in my header tank has turn brown. i have checked the oil and it is black and i have checked the water and can not see any oil in it. i am hoping that it is not the head gasket. i own a 2001 td4. i would be grateful if anyone can shed some light , as i am at a lose to what it may be.

i hope that it is not something major , as i have just began to have fun green laning

cheers in advance
markone.

ps she had a new rad fitted about a month ago.

the brown in the water comes from the rusty **** on the inside of you cylinder jacket ;)

Hi markone,

I own a 2001 Td4 myself and have had my radiator replaced as well but the cooling water looks pink - redish, not brown rusty. Did they put the correct antifreeze in it when the radiator was replaced ??

hi all,
cheers , for you thoughts . i think that i will drain the water out and put some fresh in , so that i know what anti freeze is going in. you can not trust these garages.
thanks again markone.
