Well I took my 2006 TD4 auto HSE for the MOT today and it passed but it had an advisory or rather advisories one was the usual brakes pipe a little rusty , oil leak from rear diff I asked are you sure and it is not from where my son in law checked the oil level in it , and last of all a bit of rust on the fuel tank cradle , they said we can get one for you I quickly said do not bother I will just slap a bit of paint on the last time I was under the car the cradle was good with juts a tiny bit of rust showing ,any way it passed and I wil not be going back to the main steelers again for an MOT.

That remins s me, they advised me of an oil leak on the diff at my last MOT. I haven't been underneath to check for myself, but there are no drips on the front drive where its parked overnight.

Bit like mine, leaking diff but it never drips, just the underside of the diff is permanently shiny. I never even had it as an advisory last year even tho I was expecting but you know how it is, I could wipe all the oil off the diff this year and if theres even a hint of oil from any of the driveshafts then they will probably fail it. Not much consistency. Oh....and my fuel tank cradle is fcked lol.

Oil will blow oft at speed so it may be leaking and you think it's stopped. Fresh oil means fresh leak.
