My brother-in-law the MOT tester will be taking the "LEMON" away for its yearly check-up on Thursday.
It has done a massive 1700 miles this year. I hope it passes, he's got 4 bottles of craft ale riding on it's success.
Wish me luck.
I'm sure he will be extremely thorough (as always). But as his motto is "We don't go looking for trouble" I have high hopes.
Current mileage is 15,590 and 19yrs old so rusty original exhausts might be a problem, we shall see.
Allegedly....Extremely low miles where did you find that motor![]()
Allegedly....
The previous owner was a millionaire and he just parked it up in his barn on his farm in Herts along with his Bently and his Ferrari.
As he was retired and spent all his time running his Golf Club and zooming about his estate on an ATV he decided he no longer needed the Rangie and punted it out via a specialist "unique cars" site.
I paid silly money for it because it was in showroom nick (idiot that I am). I was suspicious and did all the checks one can do on its provenance and it seemed genuine.
So far, so good. Usual age related niggles (head-lining and door-latch switches). Oil in the engine mysteriously stays really clean. No huge leaks anywhere. Rubber items here & there have perished.
I had that on the last one. Whenever you were stopped alongside the central reserve barriers in traffic the clattering noise was awful.Great news
We never expected any less from you really
One year when your exhaust does need doing you’ll find a back or mid box will suffer, front pipe is damn near indestructible but occasionally they blow an exhaust gasket that can be checked with a bit of tissue on a stick![]()
