MOT time,
well its bad enough for some, but..
today, my son put his old car through the MOT.
passed with flying colours but, came home with a bit of printed out paper like you print at home on your home computor printer!
just black ink on white paper!
son says, as its all online now, its just for "referance"
anyone else got one of these just for referance style MOTs...

My last advisory sheet was on a plain piece of paper.... But never heard of that!

Edit: turns out it's legit and valid from this month.... I guess as it's all recorded it doesn't matter these days. Unless you tax your car at a post office and it's not checked....

Yup, that's the way it's going to be from now on.
Advisories are printed on the same page too, so no hiding them from potential buyers.

Just hope the nice people at the post office know about that when you go and get your tax and dont say "sorry, we need to see the green paper"

Buying Tax at Post office will be like buying tax online - they will just type in the Reg No and system will confirm MOT and insurance. They will just have to confirm ownership. The era of Big Brother... :)

its alright, dont mind that if it actually works.

I dont mind the Big Brother either, that probably helps keeping people with no insurance off the roads or at least try and control it a bit more....

law abiding citizens will have nothing to worry about :D

agree 100%.
just read the sheet, it said for £1-50, text them, and they will remind you when new MOT is due....
re big bruv,
most of the main roads around here have ANPR cams on poles/lamposts,
so your even recorded when you come & go anywhere, even just into our local town & back....
maybe not good for crim`s, but good for tracing your landie if its stolen.
true it wont stop `em, but quick policing can track the vehicles movements while on the roads, and as most "traffic" cars have ANPR fitted as standard now, it even alerts mr policeman/woman to vehicles that are recorded as lost or stolen ect!
1984 indeed eh....

Yeah...excellent...except when human error occurs....a works van I used to drive got pulled every time it was driven into town.....coz someone had typed the wrong reg in to the polis system...and they thought it was number one most wanted! Got boring after the first half dozen pulls...:p

If the system works fine but as usual it won't, missus works for an insurance co and they put the details on the m.I.d data base so the police can confirm if your insured but she says the police are always phoning up to check for insurance because their systems don't work or are not updated, so when we get pulled for no mot because their systems ain't working and we are mot,d they go and take our car from us leaving us on the side of the road and try and crush are landys when it's them who are incompetent, fook that I want my proof when I pays me money so I can show the bastids:D

yeh i got one of the new style ones the otherday, one of the first in the country aparanatly! whaaayy!

should at least be a bit of headed paper with the garages details on it, wouldn't make any difference, but you'd feel better with it being a bit more "official" like
