Getting the landy prepped for its MOT in the New Year, and wondered if the state of the seat belt buckle casing would be cause for failure. The buckles still work and latch securely, but the plastic outer casing is broken and replaced by some trusty gaffer (see pics).

What is the view of the MOT expertise here? Fail or Pass?

So long as it works it will pass, if it clips together and remains so under some tension, and it unclips without snagging then there's no reason for a fail.
At worst you should only get an advisory.

hmmm,
why not "borrow" a good one from a mate, for the day of MOT,
swap back over after, then replace with another when one comes along.

If I was a MOT tester, and saw ****e like your bodge, I`d be looking hard all over your landie fer more bodges too!

bad move from me I tink,
but i`m a townie, and i guess my rules may differ from other areas.

buy a new one ya tight git :D

Cant be that expensive surely?

Good to know it will pass.

I'll add it to the "to do" list and try and get a "new" one from the scrappies :)

The plastic is not structural ive had belts pass in that condition. As long as it works
