Found something a bit odd under my bonnet yesterday ..
Missing oil filler cap, with accompanying oil-drenched engine bay (even more than usual), but (here's the weird part) oil level is above max. Either I've got a load of water or something in there (not sure how), or somebody's messing with me. Oil is due for a change, so no worries.
Popped down the breakers for a filler cap, and got one off a 3.2 Jag straight 6. If you haven't seen one of these, it's a MASSIVE engine, about 3ft long, could be a WWII aircraft motor. Don't know much about it, but it must have huge bores and next to no stroke to come out that size. Can't imagine what justified the length of crank you'd have in there.
Anyway, cap fits even better than orig, but could I have done better? I imagine any Austin/Leyland one would fit.
