Quite possibly. It depends on if the parts used are the same as those removed. If it turns the points don't add up enough to retain the vehicles I.D. I bet LRO will be slightly red faced.
Like I say I aint wanting to get involved with the who's right and who's wrong about the I.D.

this int the 1st thing lro has put in the mag thats us go :confused: ....:rulez: theres bin ringers, suppossed to be Q plates, and really weird letters in it before, and it other landy mags, point is you still buy it and read it! i'll be happier when scrapion racing dont have such massive ads in it!

personally, thing that fecked me off most was the card insurance thing put in from sureterm in the middle!
 
I think that fell out of mine on the doorstep by accident and blew away!!! Does anyone know if we have any LRO people on here - i still want to have a go at them for sending people down private non-vehicular bridleways in Cornwall as part of their greenlaning-round-the-country feature.

Would be nice to have one of them as a presence on a good forum like this!
 
you'd be amazed just how many motors in all kindsa mags are at least a little dodgy:wtf: i guess the demand from modifiers for parts as cheap as poss will always mean there is somebody willing to nick bits, unless the law starts to get off it's arse and start to actually punishing all envolved:rolleyes: the mags are unlikely to ask questions as they need unusual motors to feature on their pages and the dodgy gits who use stolen bits are only too happy to show off their unusal/modified motors :mad:

If I change the chassis for a reconditioned one, is that Ok.
if so, then how long after this can I change the engine for a reconditioned one, the axles, gearbox etc and not have them counting towards the loosing of my reg no.
If I replace the parts at one week intervals then would I still be legal??:)

ell of a question can see where yo cuming from but if yu is using recon parts rebuild/recon wat yu av with numbers on i know pain in the glutamus maximus but who"s to say all the numbers are what cum out of sollihull any way makes yu think
 
but similarly that guy who crashsed his landy into the river, sadly killing some of his children is being criticised and threatened with prison, primarily because his land rover was made up of bits from four land rovers. excuse me your honour, but aren't a lot of them made up as bitsas ?

They are ALLLLLLL bitzers! If they are unroadworthy then this is a failing in the MOT syatem, not the owners!

ain;t long ago bought disco 300tdi v5 said 2.5 oil burner manual
vin read as v8 3.9cc auto
did checks through LR
made for malaysia as v8 auto never shipped due to oil crisis
when i buy parts on chasis no comes up as v8 auto#
got letter of lr and it states all work done it was a test motor for 2 years and changed to 2.5 manul before sold to lr employee
Swansee still have it as v8 auto with my actual engine No 2.5 oil burner manual they wont change there records
contacted insurance to make sure i was covered they said fine as long as engine no and chasiss no match so just gave up
is mine legal !
 
mates old 200tdi disco is a stolen recovered,the new chassis number given to him from swansea checks out as a 24v lhd 110 army jobbie ,so wot chance have ya got:confused: :confused: :D
 
cheers layzdog just made my day i had similar prob with mine dvla said it was a 110 insurance said it was disco log book also says disco what chance have we got
 
Swansea says its legal insurance say it will go by log book
i dont trust em if it got knicked so got intouch with lr heritage they put me in touch with club at factory who gave me for £15 full details and to me is worth more than there assurances

what a grasser ! :fighting: he aint nicked owt for his land rover why do you feel you need to grass him up ? if you did a mod to your mota and you got grassed up for it you would be real ****y. if he said he was using nicked parts then i would say ya did right but hell fire ! replacing parts on your land roevr DONT fuel defender theft, it does how ever fuel cheap prices at land rover suppliers as people are always changing parts on land rovers and making mods. it sounds as if you had your way land rover parts would be as expensive as jap parts for them crappy warriors and troopers then you would be ****y !!!

If hes motors dodgy then the dvla might do him.if it aint they wont.If they actually look at it at all.The bods on the LRo forum seem ok.Only went on there for some routes and ill be looking round for tips on fixing me motor and that so no wont be kicking off wiff em BoB
