Hi all,

Doing a search there's lots of questions about how much antifreeze, but does anyone know if antifreeze should be mixed. What I mean is, can different brands be mixed. I was reading somewhere antifreeze should not be mixed. Or should I ask the garage what they used last year and top up accordingly, or am I just talking crap..

Answers greatfully recieved.

Personally I change the water and antifreeze every year, doesn't cost a lot.
change me oils and brake fluid occasionally too.

NEVER mix different colour anti freeze it can turn to jelly in the cooling system. flush out and refill.:)

Yay thanks,

I think I will do the flush and refill. I found the article I was reading in the past - hope I did no damage topping up with some other stuff, since it was serviced last year

- decided will do the service in this month as this winter is supposed to be a b'stard, coldest in the last 1000 years according to Russian and Polish scientists. think, I best stock up with vodka and palinka too.

Laters,

make sure you use OAT anti freeze for the freelander (organic acid technology), should be orange if bought from a main dealer, not sure about after market stuff

I flushed mine out 5 or 6 times before I chaghed mine.

Topping up must mean your losing it somewhere ?.
