Lol, The dealer has said he will take the car back but we want to keep it. He said it would cost 2k to fix?????
 
everything on the bottom does ie the trip mileage and P,D,R etc show up on the left. The display is darker on the right
 
Yep id let him have it back. sounds like a Becm problem. If bodged you will have alsorts of issues in the future.
 
The display on the right is getting darker now so thinking it maybe down to the display. Is it possible to have the becm flushed
 
Hi I have had the instrument pack and becm tested and both passed the test, have been told it requires a subitution but not sure what they mean by that

Agree with wammers if its p38 then could be simple as backlight bulbs gone, always go for the simple things first you never know you might be lucky unless its mine of course then its bound to be expensive !!
 
yeah, i would go with the bulbs first, one went on mine the other day and could only just see the left side of the display, or i thought one had gone, took them out to day, three bulbs to light the lcd display up, two blown, new ones in and good as new, couple of £ to fix if that, had spare bulbs in the garage. so if one or two have gone and it was down to the last one which could have been the middle bulb so display was lit up, then that blew, all display will be dark.
 
didn't realise they had bulbs in the dash for the display, thought they were lcd! :doh:
