EGR is very common fault, first step is to remove EGR valves (there are 2) and either clean or replace with blanking kit.

Reset ECU dtc memory and see what happens.

Or at least that's what I would do...

b4 you do above blancing check new mot rules re emmisions etc . it might have to be there for test:(

Urm, remove and clean and refit then I guess. I don't envy you if you have to buy new ones... :(
 
just spoke to old man and both come to that thought about mot.been searching and its the rods from valve that sieze and its a boby off job.A few people have said can be taken off with out taking body off but can find how?
 
after doing a few more searches ther is a way to change turbo with out lifting boby but can't find anything about it a few ref. about it but no info anyone got any ideas? and a plasma torch or big grinder are not an option.
