Hi from me and my new (to me) 1998 Discovery (Safari Edition).
I have been visiting this site for a few weeks, but only joined today. I have already found it to be very useful and I hope that in the coming months and years and will be able to add and take-away.
I have just bought a Discovery 1 (1998). I have had two before, but none were as nice as this one. It's only done 97,000 and had a full service history. It is tidy in and out.
My wife and I are off to live in Greece at the end of August and this will be our transport there and our only vehicle once we are on the island. I wanted a Discovery because 1. the roads are rubbish 2. I love the look and the utility and 3. most decent mechanics can work on them easily enough if you can source the parts.
I want to do as much as I can myself to keep it on the road and I may be seeking help with advice and know-how etc once I am in Greece. From what I have seen of this site already, I am sure there will be plenty forthcoming.
That's all for now. Cheers!
