Just reversed my beautiful dhse out of the drive and caught a metal latch scratching the passenger door (picture) 'The scratch' is almost a gouge.
I need advice on how to fill/repair this. The worse damage is the lower 'scratch' which has scraped the aluminium along the scratch into a small lump.
Advice please

Unless you have done this before and are competent, take it to a finishing shop they will do it pretty quickly for a few bob. About an hour and a bits worth there i would think.

As above, I wouldn't attempt this myself unless I really knew what I was doing! Probably looking at about £100 for one panel at a reasonable paint place. If the panel is dented then they'll probably just fill it using filler and paint over. Very difficult to get dents out of aluminium as you can't use strong magnets as they sometimes do with steel panels.

Sorry but I'm just here to agree with the other lads. If you've got to ask then you'll never get a finish that will satisfy you. Pay a professional and when he's done look ALONG the door from both ways. If you can't see the repair - pay the man.

Thanks for the advice, I think that is the way I will go. I don't have the skills to do this repair. Can't fix this with spanners and sockets (or a big 'ammer).
I have an appointment to go see a bodywork specialist this morning and will check out a few more before I decide which one to use.
Not going to go thro' the insurance as I have an excess and although I have protected no claims bonus, the b*st*rds are bound to find a way of making me pay more because of it. - 'any claims etc during the last 5 years!'

Booked!, to be done 16th August. £150 all in. Will let you all know how good he is.:D
