Had to the possibility of buying my mates 03 L322 Vogue V8 with 60k on the clock for £5k. It's what LR offered him in px for a TDV8. I was all up for it because I thought at that price I could knock it out over night for £5k if I didn't like it.
Anyway he thought about it for a week, not about the £5k but about justifying the £50k it would still cost him for the TDV8!! He finally decided to go for it but unfortunately in the week that passed the TDV8 had been sold.
Already peed off by his fannying around he sounded suicidal when I spoke to him the other day. Driving around in his L322 a few days later his gearbox suffered terminal failure resulting in major expense to get it sorted.
2 things came to mind. That despite these hard economic times more than enough people seem to have money to spend on £55k motors. And the gearboxes in the L322's really are as crap as they say. This was one pampered RR that was serviced bang up to date and to knacker a gearbox in 60k miles on a luxury go anywhere 4x4 is poor show. Also would have been the worst £5k I'd ever spent!!

I'm quite happy with my P38 and only a MK3 at £5k or less would tempt me away.
