Hi

Came to use my 1985 90 V8 this morning and no clutch. Master cylinder reservoir was empty and I know it had a history of the level dropping so got another slave cylinder.

It's an FTC5071 which I believe is the correct one for the LT85 and it fitted OK. Clutch rod seemed attached OK to the arm but having pressure bled it, and I am pretty certain there is no air in the system as I used a Gunson pressure bleed, the clutch bite is right at the bottom of the pedal travel. Lots of free play on the pedal before you feel it contact the clutch rod. I don't think there is any adjustment on this setup apart from initial setup on the master cylinder which I haven't touched. Before the problem the clutch biting point was OK

The slave cylinder was boxed as a Bearmach 4253-312P

Any ideas please?

Thanks

ftc 5071 is correct , I use the bleed before fitting method , just be careful you dont push the plunger out , after pushing it right back to the stop. There is no adjustment , and dont be tempted to adj the m/cyl , if it was ok before . Just persevere, if not removing from vehicle is bleed nipple above inlet , as its possible to fit either way up . Thanks for the advice.

Bleed nipple is above the inlet so although the Gunson was passing fluid through without any air bubbles at all I'll jack the front up so any trapped air goes towards the bleed nipple

Thanks again

Hi again

Jacked the front up and bled again and got some more air out now feels pretty much like it used to.

Thanks for advise
