Hiya all....

Re posted re no replies on last post !!!!!


Just wondering if any of you have the same problem as me or can give any advice on repair.

I have a disco 1 2.5 TDi 1992 on a K reg, with the LT77 gearbox. Yesterday, without any warning I was unable to engage reverse gear. I've had no problems in the past with this. I can still select all my other gears, including low range & my diff lock without any problems.....but still can't get F ing reverse !!!

Any idea's chaps ????

is it when ye first start up? If so, release handbrake and try again

mines a bit tricky to get in reverse sometimes too. Sticking it in transfer neutral and running in 2nd gear briefly, then trying reverse again sometimes helps (this also helps if it won't go from H to L or L to H. A bit of a pain mind.

You may find that the roll pin on the reverse selector has broken.

Its an easy fix in about ten mins.

Dunno if the Discos Lt77 is the same as the 90s' but have you had a look at the plunger on the gear lever housing.
