hi guys just a question if i bought a rangy with lpg do the insurance charge an extra premium on top as opposed to it being a staight petrol i have ben looking for a 110 for a while but they are all dogs and want to much work on them for my budget .so have been looking at discos and rangerover petrol models as you can pick a few out for a couple of grand .a bit more with lpg fitted .but was wondering about the insurance .also as it will be a seconed car was thinking about getting classic or limited milage insurance to keep the cost of insureing two crs down

your supposed to tell them and they should not charge anymore, some ask to see the fitting certificate.

cheers for that have no problem being honest with the insurance but just thought they might charge a premium for it .anbody know if you could put a p38 on classic insurance or how old a car has to be to qualify for it

just looking at ways to insure two vehicles without it costing the earth my problem is i tow a caravan i have two dogs and work in a mucky place my mg / rover 75 will do all i want but wont tow van off mudy field and is getting ruined by having dogs in it . i have had 4x4s before but cant put dog cage in car only need to do about 5000 miles a year in the 4x4 so was thinking of some sort of limited milage policy on it to keep cost down

no, unlimited mileage. But i don't know what their limits are for age to be on 'classic' policy

sorry, should have mentioned. Not lpg. more extreme modification: engine swap to diesel.
I think lpg is considered more or less standard. Wouldn't expect premium for it.

if they charge more for lpg then dont use them...some companies will give classic at 15yrs,even 10!!

go look in lro mag etc for many a company...yes limited mileage will help alot... as even joining a land rover club..(even if you never have anything to do with it.by club i mean on paper..land rover register etc)
