Hi gents, finally got some spare cash together to lpg the 72 rrc which is on su carbs. going for a tank in place of the spare wheel as I do use her offroad so underslungs are not good.

Last time I asked Tinly tech were recommended as the best place to get a set up for me., is that still the case? they are not particuarly local so they would need to be worth the effort.

I am looking at fitting it my self and then getting it certified. I seem to recall on wheeler dealers there was a place that did that as part of the prcie of the kit for a home install. was that tinley?

Ideally I want a place in hampshire or near by so its easy to sort any problems, so any recommendations greatly recieved.

Many thanks

Blaze are good, they look after mine and I've had very few issues with the LPG. They're on Hullavington Airfield which isn't very close to you but could be worse.

Tinley will charge you for the test. It's £50 if IRC.

You MUST make sure that the tester is qualified to put your car on the UKLPG register. It's getting very popular with the insurance companies (who set it up), and you'll be limited to who will insure you if your car isn't on it.

Any Autogas installer should be able to inspect the thing and certificate it for you. Just some don't want to. I suggest you Google a Autogas installers and email them. Also you should ask the question on here...

Someone on there will know. I've just started converting my P38 today. The tank is in, and then the rain started!

If I can find all the bits i have a lpg set up i bought to fit to my jeep when i had it. Never got round to it, then got the RR. It a single port set up with cintroller etc for 6cyl injection. but in sure the system will be ok for carbs. I have a look for it all (between 2 garages) and let you know if your interested.

thanks gents, zen not too worried about fitting as its easy with carbs etc but I will need somone to cert. gonna keep the spare on the other side or loose and put it where the spare did go as I want to keep the load capacity when the seats are folded

egor thanks mate but I am going for a new made to measure jobby, I wil et the best of the 10 year tank life then and no worries mating it all up. I have sold two lots of lpg kits in the last few years that I bought cheap thinking it would be worth fitting but going the whole hog this time.

Thankts for the offer though :D

BTW how was the jeep, neighbours gor a 97 on lpg and it seems nice but it has gone tits 3 times in 3 years in differnt ways. only cost him £1700 for the whole car though
