When Im driving along if I let my foot off the accelerator sharply and make my defender jolt u can hear and feel a thump under footwell area.

Is this normal? I'm guessing it's prop does anyone else's do this?

when I get under the truck I can spin the front prop around about a inch either way never owned one of these before so not sure if this is normal or not?

Rotational slack is normal....check for movement on the universal joints and sliding joint. If there's any they need changing.

Stop being cruel to your drive chain

"Is this normal?"
No.

"I'm guessing it's prop does anyone else's do this?"
I expect so but it doesn't make it right.

Show me a Landy without slack in the drivechain

Make it jolt and all the slack in the front terminates at the transferbox.

As I said check UJ's and splines on slider

Check the bushes on the radius arms where they mount to the chassis - just about underneath the footwells.

totally agree with blue, my first 90 used to do that (please note i knew nothing back then) then one day the UJ sheared on my way to work..
