that must be a worn half shaft through worn drive member ,fix that ,ftc1724 is shaft for rh side ftc1725 is shaft for lh side ,drive member is ruc105200, cap is ftc943

I'm gonna have a grovel around in th puddles now it's stopped trying to snow :(
Does the gasket go behind the cap?
And scuse me fur sounding like a prune, but is the drive member in the dif?

Gasket goes between the drive member and the main hub. The drive member is the bit that the plastic cap clips on to, it's what the half shaft turns to turn the wheel.

Piece o **** this is. 2 secs to whizz off with an impact driver. Shaft slid straight out
Looks like the drive thingy has worn allowing the half shaft to slide out of the diff and chewed the diff end of the halfshaft in the process.
Just hope the spkines in the diff aint mangled.
Cheers guys, for your help so far!!!!

All sorted now, thanks guys!
Managed to find a great place for parts in the process, JL Services in Willenhall.
I decided to change both rear half shafts and drive members in th end. I phoned around fruitlessly, land rover wanted 77 squids not inc vat just for the l/h shaft alone!!!
In the end I got both shafts, two drive members, two gaskets, two circlips, two caps and two litres of diff oil for £102!!!!!!
I'm now a happy teddy, speshly because it's also cured the little thump when taking up drive.
Fookin brill lads, thanks again!!!!!!!!!!:5bcheers2:
