Not sure. Where to start to narrow it down.

I lost all drive then put it into diff lock and limped it home. But did here a funny noise from the front left. Hence why i suspect drive shaft or cv etc.

The axle in the back is complete so would just do a straight swap. Calipers the lot.

tis a lot of work to remove/replace axle for the sake of a halfshaft tho

a) yu arent the closest.
b) we dint know yu was local

letes see how it pans out, wlm.

it looks like disco can remove prop on his own (9/16 AF nuts n bolts).

any probs contact me.
 
I have the tools to take the prop off. Thank's for the offer of help. If I could get some axle stands and a jack would swap the whole axle out.

It is a never ending story just done the head gasket last weekend. i baught the axle as a slow time strip and re build but not taken it out of the back yet.
 
Wlm . If yu can have quick look see - to see if yu can identify, more specifically, the prob?
Disco - if yu can remove prop?

Ok thanks for the help guys it restores you faith in human nature.

Can I get on the map when all up and running as always willing to help.

Will drop the prop of today.

As for fault finding will need an axle stand etc to do this.
 
Yup.
Yu can sign up for the LZ rescue service. Just look for the thread, let fanatic or blue beastly know details of what yu can offer and where. Pm ratty & me the same info plus contact numbers ( I got yours).
Not giving a contact number doesn't help us :eek:.
 
OP, did you mention breakdown recovery? Could you not get recovered home? Save you a bit in doisel too..! I would offer to come help but it's a four hour round trip.

one knackered cv joint

all fixed noe so he should be good to get back to oxford
60 mile round trip and 6 hr out of the house
