driving home to night i noticed that the car was slowing down like the breaks were on and when i tryed to accelerate there was no joy it still slowed down as soon as i knocked it out of gear it reved fine and rolled ok only seams to happen when driving and in any gear it a 98 l series diesel any suggestions please

You could try night school and do a course on English

sorry in bit of rush and not looking didnt know you needed a degree in english to post a problem.

Fuel and/or air.

When were these items last checked/changed?
Try these in order:

Fuel filter.
Fuel pump.
Air filter.
Turbo hoses.
