It does however talk to EAS ecu. Did a 'pin test' and pin 7 comes out as error.

Nanocom is good, just as likely to be the car as the Nanocom. I trust you read the operating instructions? On some devices, the memory can be corrupted if unpluged when in the middle of an operation, should only be unplugged when the device is at rest, home page.

I'm assuming 'pin 7' is the connection to the other ecu's and a different 'pin' is used for eas ecu.

Also I don't have a windoze PC only a mac so can't update to latest firmware (it's on the previous one).

Assuming the car is a diesel, pin 7 on the OBD connector goes to the engine ECM and the BECM via splice and the ABS ECU, so effectively it's a common line for all 3.
Can you interrogate the BECM or the ABS ECU?

That's jumping to conclusions, just as likely the car. As the poster above suggests, try your Nanocom on another P38, petrol or diesel will do as you will be able to look at the BECM or ABS even if you can't look at the engine.

Nanocom sorted! The people at BBS are excellent, can't recommend them enough!

(Just don't use Royal Mail Parcel Force - they told me 4 days and it took 10. So now called Royal Snail).
