I need advice on buying a defender 90 I want is for a light off road toy!
I'm looking to pay up to £3000 for something that isn't going to cost a arm and a leg to keep running! Is there anything I should look for when going to look at defender 90's? Any advice would be much appreciated

Think that's fair JP - at £3k is likely to need another couple of grand spent over the first year IMO

bought my 90 from a farmer for 500 quid. another 500 for the mot, and then a new alternator since then. everything else i've done to it has been out of choice apart from the odd thing like lights failing and ujs, bushes and a couple of patches on the rear cross member, it's been pretty bullet proof. got loads of clunks and holes in the thing, but no show stoppers.
