Hi Everyone!

I'm a designer who deals with logos and company branding and I'm looking for some off road pictures that I can make drawings from. Unfortunately I can't use any images from google because I don't have copyright to do so. So I had a brainwave and wondered if any of you guys had any pictures you'd taken yourself at events that you wouldn't mind me making an illustration from?

Just to clarify I wouldn't use the photo as is, I'd redraw it, ok, I might trace it ;)

I really hope you can help and thanks in advance,

Lee (LCG)

Plenty of stock photo sites you cheap sod. Plus use the advanced google search and you can filter by license.

As a 'designer' you should already be aware of this.

And just to stick the boot in, if I were paying you for a custom 4x4 logo/branding for my company and found that you just traced a random image from the inet.. well.. sacked.

It's actually one of the conditions of the site I use, no stock/clip art at all, I agree it's a far simpler solution but one that's unavailable to me. We're only allowed to use either photos we've taken ourselves or ones that we have consent from the copyright holder to use. No laziness/cheapness involved.

It's a logo for an offroad school so a traced image of a land rover is exactly what they're after.

Looks like I'm going to a garage today to take some pictures! I just thought I'd test the water here and see if there were any nice people willing to help a guy out.

cue evil to post the picture of Ratty driving that ditch. :D

@ the OP.

What kind of thing are you looking for? lots of mud or general off road driving?

I might be able to dig a few out of my photobucket account.

Thanks BGB, that is indeed some serious beardage you've got there so congrats on that ;)

Ideally something corner on, front or rear, shot low down. If it could have a bit of a wide angle perspective thing happening that would be great.
Alternatively a vehicle traversing opposing cambers would be great too.

Something like this possibly...

The shots by Lanny in this thread are nice too...

I'm going to look for my local dealership now and give them a ring ;)

Hopefully these spur some others to give up there photos ;)

Those first two are outstanding and the last one isn't what I was looking for but is a really nice shot. :D

You're a star, thanks!

You think the offroad school would send you a few. :)

negative maverick, our good forum member AndyLand was attached to the other end of the rope. i was retrieving him from a bog.

I was unaware that the shackle had not been rotated into its correct position until after i saw the photo

Just in case you want a photo of a proper Land Rover... (although if you're a graphics bod I guess you don't know the difference)

Yeah it was flat there but its a 10 metre strop and mr Land was in a ditch(not a bog as previously stated) and i believe was cross axles. Is a very claggy/clay based site. :(

It was at wagtail pay and play - now closed because some pikey bastid stole the farmers ****!
