I've done the same sort of thing but the dog's have more head room. My shelf is on the grab handle & a support on the other

Looking into the same kind of thing myself but with a pair of drawers, one to hold recovery bits (strops, shackles, snatchblocks etc) and another for tools and odds and sods. No matter where I put stuff in mine its always in the way, handy to have everything tucked away (from prying eyes ) so I can still store bits on top.

They never considered storage when they designed the Disco's!
