does anyone know if i can turn on the lights on warning chime??, seem to recollect reading the american market p38's have this function

If you mean the "Oi, you've left your lights on" warning then my 2000 does it and it's never been outside Britain.
It's probably one of the things that can be changed in the BECM so you'll need one of the plug-ins.

i have had a look with rovacom, but cant see it, maybe it depends on the software level of the becm
