I want to upgrade the lights on 1997 hse need light for night driving so looking at HID kits but need two lots so in for 600quid or is there an alternative light replacement help and advice please thanks

that will get rid of the main beam problem and guess the upgrade HID for the dip

See yer optician and get yer glasses upgraded I drive at night all the time in a series one disco and the lights are fine I've stuck 2 sets of spots for highbeam use cost me £25 off ebay. What are you planning to drive down a coalmine.

get a pair of 170w lightforce spots on there... sort your nighty driving right out!

i got a lightpod and roof bar with a total of 8 lights at 55w each... thats what i use when going down coal mines

you can get bosch OEM hid packs for about £80 off flebay.

If you really do want to upgrade to HIDs then HIDS4U Ltd, UK for all HID and Xenon lighting kits and conversions is where Ive seen alot of other P38 owners go.

IIRC the guy who owns it has a P38 himself so they can easily help you out if you contact them for advice on what setup to go for.

For what its worth

I changed all the halogens on the front up to those Philips 50% plus units made the lights certainly brighter with minimal effort.

I was thinking along the HID path as a upgrade too
really like to hear from anyone who has any exp. with the upgrade on a P38

The Lightforces seem really good and if i were to go with a "extra set" for the extra cst i would choose them

What i was thinking about for the main beam this winter is uprating the main beams to 130w bulbs ( al little naughty) but can be removed for inspection
