I would start checking all the lighting earths and power connections at the front end then rear pull the bullets apart poor ones will snap the wires and clean with some Emery till bright , nip up till tight, could also disconnect side lights turn headlight on and see if they work ok

Tis an earth fault .... on a LR, who would have thought

Either the earth is missing locally to the observed fault, or goes missing when another load gets switched on..
Verdigris will make this happen in all sorts of weird and wonderful ways - so post #2 is fine advice IMHO.
A super useful "tool" for such circumstances is a wander lead with a croc clip one end to connect to batt -ve, and a probe on the other to take a good earth to any point on the vehicle within reach of your lead ....Should almost be LR special tool number 2 - given special tool number 1 is a BIG hammer

Earthing to galv chassis should be ok , as long as everything clean and bright, see wiring diagram above, all earths next to lights
The earth connections are all black wires and behind plastic grille
While the rear connections behind the corner shields in the rear tub corners , main wires on drivers side with connections to passenger side same place

If the points were clean on installation - galv should provide a very good earth - the zinc is soft enough to deform a little when the bots are tightened...
If you do make the wander lead I mentioned - you'll very quickly find any defective earth points .....
