Sorry to but in but could I use a pair of lift on the rear of my Discovery as the back end sits down after fitting my 2" lift kit?

Would fitting 90 Defender springs cause the rear to sag?
may do disco hasa lot of over hang and weight compared to a 90 ,v8s are too light for std lift springs

You sure you got the springs the right way round? When I did mine I put fronts on rear and rights on left, it was nose high and driver side low! felt like a right twunt ..

90 Defender rear springs are lighter coils, I believe, than Disco, so that might cause sag. I guess you could fit blocks, but you'd be better getting 'proper' Disco rated springs ..

you could always go for 3" lifting blocks made from billet alloy so no chance of collapse or distortion...

+3" HD springs

a 3" body lift... easy on a disco... pita on a fender as to get it looking good u will need to chop the rear off and raise it all 3"

youll also need to raise all the other body mounts a suitable amount...

and fabricate box section to raise the bulkhead... as the fender bolts horizontally you cant just use disco blocks..

not too mention the need for 6 degree arms, adjustable panhard, double cardon props, + 6 hoses, adjustable a frame, -4" shock brackets, -4" front turrets, extended shocks, extended seat belt brackets etc etc etc...

takes time but can be done......

what im trying to show is to do it safely its not just a set of blocks... and its gets damn expensive... itll also affect insurance n driveability....

mine will now sit with the floor at around 40" but its taken a boat load of work....

cheers steve

I fitted it the way my mate said they came of his Defender, longer ones at the front, but longer was only like 5-7mm, but the front looks like its over an inch higher, althou being a V8 might explain a bit more.

Mines nose high and a little higher on the drivers side.

Heh, my +2"'s are longer on the rear .. very slightly nose down, but at least it's not got the front bumper in the air!!!!

With tools and crap in the back it's level .. ;)

it should be higher on drivers side but not really nose high

dont you want it nose in the air a little bit before you bolt a winch on. to bring it down level.

Remember with your shocks and shock droppers when one side of the axle goes down the other side goes up and this upward travel also limits articulation and will create a lot more force on the shock than the axle hanging off the other shock, longer shocks are the best way to get real articulation and improved damping

Can't afford 'em yet .. the setup I have cost £20. I already had the longer bump stops fitted from when I removed the anti-roll bars.

When I can I'll do it right, but for now it'll do .. and it works .. ;)
