I don't think so. It doesn't look like the camber has changed in the rear, only on the front.

I totally agree, but unfortunately only because I have first hand experience.
When I had my lift fitted in 2007 I was told to get it aligned the next day (the kit was fitted at the end of the working day). I decided to leave it until the end of the month as money was tight after just shelling out for a new set of Wrangler AT/R's, the lift kit and the fitting. BIG mistake. The brand new front tyres were scrubbed and needed to be replaced within 3 weeks.So it cost me another couple of hundred quid to replace them and then still have to pay the £20 for the alignment anyway.

Hey folks, new to the site and have just got myself a freelander and looking to make myself a lift kit. Would anyone be able to provide a detailed dimensional drawing for any size lift kit ? It would be very much apreshiated

You think i'd give you all the dimensions of the lift kits I make? Or that Bearmach would give you the dimensions of theirs? Don't think so somehow

I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself unless you're VERY competent.
I'm handy with a mig & arch welder & I didn't risk making it.

I'll be more than happy to sell you a kit, as frankly with the time you'd put into the design, getting a single set of plates laser cut, welding the whole lot up inside and out, and getting a single set plated (platers normally have a MOV), it would cost you a lot more.
Or if you really want to make your own, do what I did, and buy a front & rear suspension strut assembly, and spend a day cadding it up, prototyping the plates to make them a good tight fit etc etc. You'll pay about £50 for a pair of struts, one front one rear, in fact i've got the set I used just sitting about, so you can have them for £50 if you want them.
But how you can make a one off kit (properly) for less than £140 i'll never know

Yeah Duncan I agree, I'm going to have a go at making my own I will just have to take measurements from my car. Just wondered if anyone was willing save me the hassle of takeing the struts off ill keep you all updated !

Well I'm definitely NOT going to have a go at making my own. As soon as I'm allowed by SWMBO I'll be having one of Simon's and having it professionally fitted by a friend who owns a garage with a full set of ramps and tools, and knows freelanders inside out.

Ok I'm sorry I forgot to mention I'm a turner/HND mechanical engineer and have access to some CNC machines so I wasn't going to weld them I was going to machine them from one piece of steel much stronger and much much more accurate. But you only get one first impression I guess sorry guys

You'll have to make yourself some stud extensions too then, if you're going solid, you'd be better off with aluminium too, there's a company in America makes them, Todco or something like that

I have seen them solid ones they look plain I was thinking of grooving them so they look like yours. they look loads better !
