Now i might make myself look a complete idiot,(nothing new there) could the new bulbs receve their power from a rely , the relay being switched by the vehicle's side light circuit or would that make no difference,its just that i put some extra running lights on my Volvo truck and got the "bulb fused" warning on the dash and wiring in a relay all was well.
The "bulb fused" warning on your truck was because you increased the load on the lighting circuit, LED lights reduce the load. Adding the relay removed the additional load from the lighting circuit and replaced it with the relay coil which draws so little current that it would not be detected

yes i remember now, another fix was to put a peice of tape over the warning

Kooky Guy is right...If you refer to the previous thread on LED bulbs, you will find that it is illegal to fit them to any car that has lamp/lens units originally designed for standard bulbs.
It doesn't matter if the LED bulbs themselves are E marked, as it simply means that they have been passed as ok for their intended use, which legally is in LED specific lens units, therefore unless you change the lens units to ones E marked specifically for LED bulbs, you will fail an MOT or roadside check! Unfortunately I don't believe anyone actually makes them for the P38.

Just ask anyone who's been stopped for having a bulb out... LED's are fairly obvious otherwise there'd be no point in having them!

Thought the idea of LED's would be to avoid lamps failing??? Most plod don't even know the first thing about C&U regs. and most MOT testers wouldn't give a ****e as long as they light up, when was the last time your tester got in the back of your car to check the rear seatbelts, or in the boot for the spare wheel (obviously not on a landy)...

Mine always checks everything... occassionally he'll let me off a blown bulb or something like that cause I've been going there for years and knows I won't take the **** and ignore it, but he'll always look. Also means I get a fair and accurate assessment on the state of the car. Most traffic cops are pretty hot on construction and use, helps them meet their quotas when stopping the boy racers, who are also fairly keen on fitting LED's to older cars, it's an easy crime detection for their figures, just like dodgy number plates.

No, tape over the bloody bulb out warning light on the dash.
