as for welding thick to thin try concentrating your heat more on the thick stuff and flicking the puddle into the edge of the thin evry now and then it seems to blend in rather nicely without blowin the hell out of the thin stuff

Finally got it out the back of the garage to find the 0.6mm wire all rusty and running through a 0.8mm tip.

So shot to Halfords and bought some 0.6mm tips, a reel of 0.6mm wire and a disposable bottle of CO2. ( ouch ).

Got it all home, put it all on the welder and let it rip on some clean 1" box section.

Got a couple of good runs, but did seem to " stutter " a bit.

Without my finger on the trigger, I could hear a hissing coming from the handle.
Took it apart to find the " O " ring that seals the 4mm pipe to the " tap " under the trigger to be out of its housing slightly. ( no wonder my gas was always empty ).

Now sorted, and getting a better weld.

Im defo going to look into a bigger bottle though, as £ 13 a go for a " soda stream " bottle is no good.

i just googled your welder and it looks a lot like the SIP migmate130 i had..... i fecking hated it! it used to do that weld for about an inch then spatter and fart about, it was the wire feed motor and mechanism, i junked the whole welder (still sits behind me garage)


that reminds me...... i could do with modifying my welder to accept a euro torch
