I've orderd the gaskets today and there 2 quid each ! So I've orderd all off them. So you think I should put sealant on the new gaskets aswell ? Was thinking of maybe sealing up the sifari windows aswell whilst I'm at it ?

I've tryed dropping the roof liner at the front and looked at the water drains but they looked ok so I just coverd them in sealant anyway. I could have sworn it was the windscreen so got a new one fitted but still no Joy !! I think my next one is to completely remove the head liner and go from there . We at South West Sunroofs seal hundreds of Disco sunroofs every year. Just occasionally after sealing the roofs, we are alerted to water ingress in the corner of the rooflining, at the top of the 'A' pillars. In every case, the sunroof has been found to be leak free, and the cause found to be the body seam at the top corner of the windscreen aperture.
In some cases, this is inspite of a recent windscreen replacement. It's no good just applying extra sealant when bonding the screen back in. The only way to ensure a leak free screen, is to completely dig out the original sealer in the corners and reveal the offending body joints. Only then, and when the surface is completely dry and clean, should the mastic be applied. With special attention given to working it in to the corners.

Not got this far with mine yet but the failed roof bar gaskets, is it good enough to bed the existing ones back on sealant to prevent leaks or do they rot and need replacing? Seems there are 8 required, totalling about £25 with postage.
