Hello guys, I have a 1993 ex MOD 90 2.5 n/a with the two part doors (slide windows). When it rains I find puddles in the footwells which is getting very annoying:mad:. I changed the seal in between the bottom and top but the water is still getting in. I have noticed that the two bolts that join the top and bottom part together appear to be getting rusty (so probably the main cause of ingress) as well as the bottom of the slider unit. Does anyone have any experience or ideas as I am at a loss.
I find myself keeping old towels in the 90 to dry up the floor LOL:)

All adivce is very welcome.
 
Yer'll find that yer floor is self-draining!

LOL Cheers gentlemen, as I said all advice welcome. I shall purchase wellies, and wait for it to get windy LOL!!!!!!
 
There is a water ingress update from landrover identifying all the holes and how to fix them. Its a pdf and available for free...just google landrover defender water ingres and you will be happy....
 
My 110csw only leaks depending on what type of rain:eek::eek: Absolutely tipping down... dry as a bone:D That fine rain... puddle in passenger footwell:confused:

I did read on here that if anyone tells you their Landy doesn't leak then basically they're a liar:p:p

Lol diesel do, about 2 years at 100 mb per second...it's easier to just fill the whole truck with mastic....still fecking leak mind :)
 
I have tried everything to stop mine from leaking. I did reduce the amount coming in by adjusting the door catches, but you have to slam the doors very hard and need several attempts. I gave up when a friend of mine bought a New Defender and he has the same problems. I now consider it as part of the joys of driving a Defender.
 
haha, just don't make the mistake of buying soundproofing kit made of a felt like material ... i grow mushrooms now :p

but it's good to read that it's normal for a defender to leak everywhere. guess that n/a not only applies to the engine :p
 
Cheers guys, I have just looked up the words land rover in the latin dictionary and its roughy translates as "it fooking leaks get over it and move on!" LOL.
HAs anyone had any problems with water coming in through the top part of the door? particulary down from the bolts that secures the top to the bottom. I have water dripping in from here!!!
 
Yup mines are the same, they go rusty as hell and shear off which becomes a pain in the arse. I'm in the process of sorting mine at the moment but I might try a bit of sealant along with the rubber strips
 
There was the old story about the land rover driver who visited the mitsubishi factory where he saw them locking a cat in the back of a shogun overnight. When he asked why they told him "well in the morning , if the cat has not suffocated we know the door seals need adjusting tighter". So when he got home he locked a cat in the back of his landrover for the same test. In the morning the cat had escaped.
