hi everyone, im a bit new to the land of landrovers so bear with me lol

i have a 110 td and im looking to change this to a 200tdi, i live in harlow essex, does anyone know where i can find a reputable garage or person who can source me a engine and transplant it for me, ive had quotes of £2000 but im just unable to afford this, i know engine transplants are expencive but someone out there must be cheaper, im going to be selling my engine anyway, so im able to put that towards it, (its done 65000 miles) but im really stuck,

im not confident in changing the engine my self other wise id give it a go

Craddocks will do it in a day for £600 + engine.

Engines are anything from 200 - 600 for a ex disco one - ex defender one tend to go for over a grand.

I'd suggest joining a local LR club then broach the subject to a couple of the members and see if they are willing to assist while you pass out the tea & cake. If your current engine is a 2.5N/A diesel it'll be worth about £50 as everyone is going the same way as you.

is there anyway i can cool down the td engine, cause im worried that im not going to be able to afford the engine conversion, its going to be hot where ill be going (africa) so will this engine be ok

Africa is one of the few places that will actually put any stress on the TDs cooling system as thats the sort of place it was designed to be used in - just make sure everything is working as it should be - rad isnt blocked and all pathways are clear, and that there is enough coolant in it.
