I have a 2003 landy defender 110 TD5, whilst driving, it will cut out and the engine light will come on. (If you conect a scanner it will say Crank sensor fault). the dash lights will stay on, you can then switch the ignition of and try to restart. it will start after a couple of turns and then will run for about 100 yards.

This can be intermitant as could then run for 6 months and start the same issue over.

I have had the Crank sensor replaced and this problem is still there.

has anyone else experienced this and is it a common fault??

It may be the wiring to the sensor. Often it is not secured properly and can wear against the bell housing.

Is the wiring giving out the correct voltage ? 5v or 12v ?
Could poss be the throttle pedal faulty...just a thought.
