Hi guys even though this is my first post i have owned series land rovers for the past 12 years. I have just brought another land rover, this one a series 3 diesel in bright (not original) yellow. It has been off road modified slightly so i will convert it further and use it as a road legal 4x4.

At the moment it is sitting on a set of 8 spokes with old worn grizzly claws fitted. Some one has fitted wide arches to the land rover which will allow me to fit much higher offset wheels. Instead of just replacing the tyres does anyone know of any wheels /tyres that will fit, without rubbing on the inside of the wheels but stick out far from the standard wing line.

Can't really help much, but you sure are going to have to fit something big, or remove those spats!

By the width of those arches I think you need a set of these mothers

What about wheel-spacers?

30mm Aluiminium Wheel Spacers for Series 2 and 3 - set of 4

I use wheel-spacers and 7*16 modular wheels with insa traction track (265)
could even be more offset but I'm happy with this

you have to remember that what ever you fit that front wheels need to have center of steering in center of tyre which is line through swivels throufh tyre center to ground other wise steering will be very poor

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply my Internet has been down so I'm having to use my phone. The problem with wheel spacers is that I'm going to have to but huge ones to fill the arches. Probably over 20mm which is going to be under serious stress off road and I will probably break them. I'm happy with the width of the grizzlys I have fitted I'm just wondering if there is a landrover steel or alloy that I can fit with a different offset that will push the wheels out(like spacers) cheers

1 ton rims I think. Vass ave them at about £20 a pop.

Or a set of disco steelys but on the wrong way round (not advisable for road use!)

lol sounds like fun. What is the pcd of the land rover series? is it 5x165? cheers

not sure about pcd, but all lr rims (apart from modern rangys, p38 on and d2) will fit eachother
ive got 1ton rims on my hybrid, 4" offsett (2" each side) on the rims and 4" (2" each side) on the axles, 8" offsett than a lwb series...
1ton rims i would say, 16/7j
