Just wanted to post a link to my recent home-made accessorie for my trusted SWB Series III Land Rover.

I wanted to change the engine of my boat and needed crane. Luckly I am the proud owner of a Land Rover and as everyone here knows, Land Rover´s can do anything! So I built a front bumper removable crane.

Information on the internet is not vast on this theme. I only found this guy on the link below that had done something like I needed.

So for anyone that might need one, on the link below is my version. The engine lifted on the picture is a Mercruiser V6 and wheigts about 300 Kg. I lifted a very heavy stone (about 600kg) prior to the engine lift as a test and it worked perfectly.

Nice idea, I've got a crane ment for the back of a series swb laying about in the yard, now in toying with modifying it to fit the front! Cheers for the idea!

Bet that made his arms ache! Like it I do.

Fair play. Looks pretty handy. Ex had hi cap defender with recovery crane on the back. Pretty good. Bumper was reinforced rsj girder.
