Hey all, I recently had a garage clear out, getting rid of loads of Landy bits that I have changed on my 90. I advertised on a couple of sites (including here!) but sold most through eBay. On the latter I had several emails from foreign countries such as Russia, Turkey, Spain and Scotland asking me if I would be willing to post to there retrospective countries. My question is have you guys and gals had similar experiences, are these people scammers or can they genuinely not get hold of second hand Landy parts?
 
I would never post anything to a place as corrupt and foreign as Scotland. The others are ok.
 
Got to be dodgy if it is a request as far away as Scotland, its up North somewhere innit?:rolleyes: Look at the buyer's feedback score, usually tells a lot about their trustworthyness. There are bits available up here but if you find something you like on ebay, why not buy it?:doh:
 
Just be aware that if selling to scotland, courier prices roughly double if its 'Highlands & Islands'...make it clear in your ad that you reserve right to increase costs accordingly.
 
There is a huge demand for land rover stuff in the eastern European countries, and around the works as a whole. We dont realise how valuable the parts are beciasr we're inundated with them. Same as America, putting old Fords to scrap that most British men would trade their wives for. So yes most of the enquiries will be genuine.

And in fairness it's easier than ever to post stuff abroad with the likes of parcel monkey etc.

However, myself included, sellers cba dealing with the language barrier, the exchange, etc etc. must be quite frustrating for the foreigners.

Im know the polish population as nice as they seem are slowly rinsing this country for all it's vehicles and associated spares.

Come to britain, it's all free. Woohoo.

I would have to look at my atlas to find out where Scotland is :D

What I'm thinking of more is would there be a market to sell second hand spares to these countries, ie. a website set up in there languages, I would have trouble translating Scottish though?

Got the Russian translation off to a 'T' it's the wifes first language :alien: Can cope with most Eastern European countries as know some people who would help with translation, just wanted to help out fellow Landy owners if they really couldn't get the parts, my cousin breaks Landys, mainly Disco's but he does get the odd Fender with a rotten chassis in.
