Absolutely. It might have been better for the owner if the thieving little feck had rolled it into a twisted fireball. At least then the owner would have got paid out for the loss and the crim would've received a firey death sentence rather than a £20 fine.

Insurance should still pay out for the damage.
Ofcourse premiums are likely to rise, but they would do on a total loss anyway.

best (worst?) chase i ever heard of was about 15 years ago in North Staffs, 6 cop cars and a helicopter trying to take out a plastic pig
There was a similar one not too long ago, well a few years back anyway, the guy was a post office robber and used a 3 wheeler for his getaway as the police cant stinger it due to H&S, that was great thinking except the bit where its fookin slow and cant turn corners fast, I believe he got a bit over excited and rolled it in the end...
