Currently looking at a approved disco 3 se. Would like a hse but they all appear to be auto. Its 25 years since i drove an auto and didn't like it the experience then.

Anyway this is a LR approved used car 2005 78k on clock ,how much should I factor LR approval in to my decision to buy - not to buy

Today's auto boxes are very different from those of 25 years ago. Don't dismiss them but try for a test drive and you may be surprised.

Thanks for that,I suppose I thought as much but I remember being really anxious pulling away on a hill junction. But most posts I've read on here and disco3 were largely supportive of auto gearboxes. Its a ME thing! lol

It meant that they replaced lots of ECU related parts for free on my Freelander when it packed up with in a month of buying it

there is no comparison. That is like saying the hse is the same as any 25 year old land rover.

Does LR approved give you any warranty or guarantees? Take it, it is from a main dealer

I was answering the question in the title "Land Rover Approved Used Car Does It Mean Much"
It means you get a warranty with the car and they replace bits covered by it without a fuss. At least that was my experience.

for how long of a period of time/miles

Bear in mind the Disco 3 needs an expensive 105,000 mile (belts) service so it depends on how many miles you do and how long you intend keeping the car. Also check what's covered and what's not covered by the warranty and what they class as 'wear and tear' items.'
