2016 405, autobiography has an ever increasing intermittent electrical fault. Initially once a week or so for 2-3 mins, now every time I drive it.

Main control screen switches off, aircon fans stop working and only warning messages that come on are "camera" and "blind spot". All stay off for a few minutes then come back on. Have also noticed the steering has become heavier recently. Any ideas? I originally thought the amp as I replaced it 4 mths ago due water damage but I guess the aircon fans don't go through that???

Might be easier to start with the simple. The above is what happens with my L322 when the battery is unhappy. She does it intermittently until either battery is charged by driving, or a new batttery put in. If you're not giving yours the mileage/ charging time after each start it might be a similar issue.

Thanks Gold, live in the middle east and batteries don't last long so hoping you onto something. Only have the vehicle a few months and don't know when the batt was last replaced. Cheers

Not sure how battery issues would affect steering on am l322 but yes the battery needs to be tip top! I regularly put mine on charge overnight, the car won't always charge it up to 100% and a proper charge helps keep it in good condition

I don't know why it does it either but it does. When it is in that particular unhappy place the windows, stereo, EAS, wipers don't work and the steering is so heavy. It only lasts for a couple of minutes and then all is good.

Because it has some electronic servo assit valve, or some other fancy thing. That helps more at low speeds and less at high speeds, or something like that :vb-confused2:

I would imagine if it has issues it fails, so gives heavy steering🤔.

Yea i just read that.. talk about making things complicated? But i guess it's better to fail heavy than fail light.. wouldn't be fun on the auto-barn at 120mph
