Hi all ..l listed this in wrong category ..so now in rangerover section...non crank ...no dash display ..alternator light on but still charging ...changed gear position sensor in gearbox any suggestions thanks

I'd be looking at the earth points.
On the l320 sport there is a couple of earth's under the drivers wheel arch. Look for the main earth from the engine to the chassis or body.

Hi battery is new ...car starts if you short across starter ..displays failsafe ...drives okay except it thumps down the gears when slowing down ...could it be the chm?

Might have a bearing, might not, but when mine had an earth issue, the lights still came on. It just behaved like a low battery.Arrr, but has he checked

@diesel grunt My alternator was still working , but only just when it had alternator fault. So it seemed that alternator was still charging. Until it was tested. So maybe worth testing yours.

thanks guys ..did try jump leads from battery to engine no change .....next is alternator will get that sorted ..although been told it is only rectifier.....surely dash position sensor not working is telling us something ?
