My 255/50/20's come up with circumfrence of 30.04" or 763mm

285/35/20's comes in at 27.85" or 708mm

which is -7.217% difference - most accept about a 2.5% difference at the very most.

4x4 Tyres

put your origonal size tyres in, and your new size. it will tell if you are out or within limits.

but it sounds about right. i have 275/40/20 on mine. drives like ****, but looks good.

not good , do i need 285 50 20 tyres instead?
If the rims fit - they'll do - but your speedo will be out by 7.21% so at 30 indicated you'll be doing something like 26!!

As SAS says 285/45 will get you closer!

STANDARD

Rim Diameter: 508mm
Sidewall Depth: 127.5mm
Total Diameter: 763mm
Rolling Circumference*: 2301.15mm

285/45/20

Rim Diameter: 508mm
Sidewall Depth: 128.25mm
Total Diameter: 764.5mm
Rolling Circumference*: 2305.68mm
Changing your wheels/tyres may effect your speedometer reading!
With this new combination your speed will be 0.2% of that inidicated.
When your speedo reads mph you will actually be doing 30.06mph

yes, normally a 285/45 is on 19's. i did find some for sale but they are around £300 each!. mind you, 285/50/20's are almost the same price.
